Went along after hearing much about BSKJJA from friends. As an uncoordinated woman pushing 40 and never having done anything like it before, I thought it would be the first and last time. I couldn?t have been more wrong. It?s great fun, with friendly members and professional instructors and I couldn?t recommend it more.

Having never tried any sort of martial art before I was pretty nervous about turning up, but I'm incredibly glad that I did. Sensei Mark and all the members were very welcoming and friendly. It honestly felt a little bit like going "in the deep end" at first, but fellow students and the instructors are happy to answer questions and offer advice and encouragement freely even to a complete novice such as myself. It's a great atmosphere and to anyone considering starting I can strongly recommend coming along.

I can?t believe I waited until I was nearly 40 to try this. I was apprehensive about starting but there was no need, the instructors know how to push your capabilities without overloading you. I love kempo jujitsu and this academy has become like second home. The atmosphere is informal, warm and friendly, but we follow strict rules and routines to make sure that we are safe and treat each other with courtesy. The class is a mix of novices, experienced practitioners and those who have tried other disciplines, but everyone is supportive in helping each other to be better. The junior lessons are great for kids too- I brought my son to help his co-ordination and confidence and to teach him respect- he loves it! Don?t hang around like I did- come and try it, in a few weeks you will be walking taller and constantly looking forward to the next session.

I was once told the measure of a good martial arts instructor is their ability to adapt techniques. BSKKJJA teach real techniques and spend time ensuring you get them right. Our Son, Daughter and I all attend BSKKJJA and really enjoy the teachings and having the opportunity to practice what we have learnt through both sparring and ground fighting. This really is a quality Academy with great instructors and they are competitively priced.

Studying with BSKJJA has shown me what a well rounded martial art can achieve when instructed by knowledgeable and capable individuals. The discipline and technique taught is extensive and thoroughly enthralling at all times. Sessions accommodate for all skill levels, whether you are versed in martial arts or just simply wish to be more active. A great experience to be enjoyed by anyone that wishes to further themselves.

I recently joined after hearing great stories from friends. My only regret it that I did not join sooner. Not many people can say they look forward to Wednesday's, I however cannot wait each week. I am hooked. The sheer professionalism and atmosphere in the dojo is second to none as we learn a brilliant syllabus to achieve that next belt. We learn, we laugh, we hurt, but I love it. No pain no gain.

I joined BSKJJA under the recommendations of friends, and was hooked after the great two free introductory sessions. The academy is such an incredible place, with first class instruction and techniques that not only teach you real-world applications, but that have a clear path of development and progression to advance. You are made to feel welcome and praised for your improvements, whilst at the same time expected to push yourself at a rate that is challenging at your own skill level. If you are looking to start something new or pick up where you left off i can highly recommend BSKJJA!

I've been training at BSKJJA for over 5 years now, and despite being away for university, and briefly living abroad, I've continued to return. Not only are you taught a huge breadth of technique, from throws, to locks, to strikes, but you're taught how to actually use them in real situations. Training at this club makes you a far more competent fighter, to the point where you feel confident that if you were attacked, you could defend yourself. The instructors are very knowledgable, and eager to help you learn, and the club has a very friendly group of people. So if you're looking to train hard, and shape yourself into a warrior, BSKJJA is the place to do it!

I joined BSKJJA after a long break from jujitsu, I love being back training in a different style. Kempo jujitsu is really interesting with a greater focus on real-world application. The instructors are incredibly helpful and hard working and the group is great! I would highly recommend coming down and trying Kempo jujitsu!

I recently joined BSKJJA having no experience whatsoever in any kind of martial arts but am so happy I decided to give it a go. The group and instructors are friendly and approachable and I've learnt so much already. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering taking up a martial art.
